Mr. Nicoll qualified as a dentist from the University of Glasgow in 1979. His first associate position was in Woking, Surrey, moving to Maidenhead, Berkshire the following year. In 1984 he became Principal of Coach House Dental Practice, Frimley, Surrey, where, in 1994, he was joined in partnership by his then associate, Mr. Tony Davidson.

Together they founded the referral facility of Cedar Dental Clinic, establishing the necessary procedures and protocols.

Mr. Nicoll remains at Coach House Dental Practice whilst also operating in Cedar Clinic on a routine basis. He is a member of the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry (SAAD), a member of the Association of Dental Implantology (UK), a member of the British Endodontic Society and has successfully completed a combined surgical and prosthetic course in implant placement at the Eastman Dental Institute, London. He has also recently undertaken the Conscious Sedation & Pain Management course at University College, London
