Angela graduated in Dentistry, from Kings College in 2007. Prior to gaining her Dental degree, Angela gained a BSc in Biomedical Sciences. During her BSc years she did a research project regarding Smoking and Periodontal disease. This interest in Periodontal and Immunology lead to Angela attaining a Master's degree in Immunology. During her Master's year Angela conducted research into the effects of probiotic bacteria in the gut.
After gaining her Dental degree, Angela returned to Sussex, where she grew up to complete her vocational training year. She was awarded the 1st prize in the Kent Surrey and Sussex Deanery Vocational Training Scheme Restorative Clinical Case Presentation.
Following a successful year in practice Angela worked in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery as a Senior House Officer at St George's Hospital in South London. During her three years as Senior House Officer Angela gained surgical and medical experience, assisting and observing Surgeons in head and neck cancer operations, orthognathic surgery, head and neck trauma and dentoalveolar surgery as well as regularly being on call. During this period, she presented research at the British Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons annual scientific meeting.
Angela worked in a substantive post as a Speciality Doctor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Croydon University Hospital, undertaking dentoalveolar surgery under general and local anaesthetic, oral medicine and consultant clinics.
Angela has passed her Royal College of Surgeons MJDF exams and is a joint member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery and the Faculty of General Dental Practice of the Royal College of Surgeons. She is now completing her specialist training in the field of Periodontology and will qualify in 2020.
Angela is passionate about her profession and her academic, practice and hospital background have given her a great platform to provide a very high standard of patient centred care. She thrives to provide her patients with evidence-based treatment and a personalised follow up.
