OUR TECHNOLOGY
As in most aspects of life, technology has brought about many advances in dental care and treatment, which we are delighted to offer our patients.

Intra-Oral & Extra-Oral Cameras:

Our dentists utilise intraoral camera technology that helps enhance your understanding of your diagnosis. An intraoral camera is a very small camera. In some cases, an intraoral camera is just a few millimeters long. An intraoral camera allows our clinicians to view clear, precise images of your mouth, teeth and gums, in order for us to accurately make a diagnosis. With clear, defined, enlarged images, you see details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations. This can mean faster diagnosis with less chair-time for you!

Intra oral cameras also enable our practice to save your images on our computer system to provide a permanent record of services. These treatments can be printed for you, other dentists or insurance companies.
Digital Radiography & Imaging:

Digital X-rays offer more precision since we view the image on a computer monitor, instead of holding up a 35mm film up to the light.

Digital x-rays expose patients to 50-90% less radiation than the old technique of using x-ray film.

Other benefits are that they produce an image of superb quality that the dentist can view instantaneously on a computer monitor. This helps with accurate diagnosis and reduces treatment time.

The Gold Standard in Dental X-Rays

We are delighted to be able to offer our patients the most advanced dental radiographic system currently available – 3D Cone Beam Tomography. Our Cone Beam X ray machine is basically a mini CAT-Scan machine for teeth and jaws, which provides a digital three dimensional view of what lies beneath your teeth and gums.

A digital x-ray scanner is mounted on a rotating arm that circles your head. As it rotates, the x-ray is projected in a carefully controlled, cone shaped beam through you and onto an image intensifier sensor. The resulting images are displayed on a computer screen allowing our dentists to see – in 360° - undistorted, virtual, rotating models of your oral anatomy.
Major Benefit

The major benefit of 3D Cone Beam scanning is that it gives us the ability to discriminate between different types of tissue. A major limitation of traditional 2D x-rays is the inability to differentiate between the many different types of tissue in the mouth – like bones, nerves, soft tissue etc. Cone Beam CT scans give a much more accurate image of your mouth and skull, enabling our dentists to create a precise treatment plan based on your personal anatomy. This is especially useful in the placing of implants.

At Cedar Clinic, we are dedicated to providing the latest technology to ensure that the dental procedures we provide are as safe and predictable as possible. The introduction of state-of-the-art 3D Cone Beam Technology ensures that we remain at the forefront of delivering the ultimate in patient care.
Magnifying Loupes & Operating Microscope:

When you attend our clinic, you are assured that our dentists and staff utilise the latest technology to enhance the quality of care and treatment you experience.

Magnifying optical loupes (worn like a pair of spectacles) allow for a greater degree of precision in both diagnosis and treatment.

The modern operating microscope is unparalelled in its ability to provide an intensely illuminated and magnified image of the inside of a tooth. Such capabilities allow our endodontist to see the very finest details of the tooth's structure, details which are simply not visible to the naked eye or to other magnifying aides such as dental loupes.

The use of the operating microscope allows our endododontist to apply microscopic examination methods and microsurgical techniques in dental care, ensuring optimum diagnosis and treatment.
